JAMES MILNER FATE THIS FORTHCOMING SEASON UNKNOWN

James Milner joined The Reds when Brendan Rodgers was the boss at the locker room from Manchester City.

He didn’t join in the best of circumstances but he went on play and gave a lot for the team in the last campaign. He had the reputation for being a no nonsense player and was the mainstay of the team.

This season with the addition of Sadio Mane from Southampton, Jordan Henderson back in full fitness and other players that are still being heavily linked with the club, many analysts feel the player, who was not given real chance at the Euro 2016 to play for the Three Lions, might gradually take the back seat in the team.

With the departure of Kolo Toure, Milner is now the only clear person with the experience of winning major trophies, especially due to his stint at Manchester City.

With Lucas Leiva and Martin Skrtel likely on their way out, the player serves as the only experienced head in the team. The player is also known for his unusual calmness under pressure. With skilful player such as Adam Lallana, the composure still gave him the edge as he finished with 16 goals and more assists that Lallana.

Milner is also very good at sending crosses to a very well clearly picked out man at the middle. It was surprising that Roy Hodgson didn’t think of him when they needed it at the continental tournament. Most of his 14 assists in the last campaign came through crosses. The team had a very poor conversion rate of chances last season but Milner is one that can surely send the ball in rightly when needed. He is likely to remain in the team but the question would be the level of his involvement in the ‘new’ team.
