MILNER REACTS TO TOUGH UCL DRAW
Liverpool vice-captain James Milner is delighted to go on another trip to the San Siro in the Italian capital of Milan. James Milner and Liverpool were initially drawn against Austrian Bundesliga champions Red Bull Salzburg at the end of the round of 16 draw before the draw was redone after a technical problem.
Liverpool had a flawless group stage campaign as they won all their six Group B games to finish at the top of the standings withthe maximum 18 points. The Reds secured slim victories during the two games against the Rossoneri. In the first meeting, club skipper Jordan Henderson scored in the second half on the way to a 3-2 home win over the Rossoneri. In the other meeting, Liverpool came from behind to secure a 2-1 away win at the expense of Milan.
Liverpool have been handed a tough draw with Inter Milan, the Italian champions, but their tie is not the best in the round of 16 as that belong to the tie between Real Madrid and French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG). The tie of the round will see Spanish defender Sergio Ramos face the club he this summer after spending almost two decades. The Spaniard moved to PSG on a free transfer this summer and he’s yet to show his quality for PSG mainly due to injuries.
